We provide development opportunities for young people. We are committed to identifying and developing talent across the organisation.
ScottishPower apprentices must complete the advanced modern apprenticeship scheme, and are based at one of our ScottishPower offices within Scotland, North of England or North Wales. The Advanced Modern Apprenticeship compromises of:
- Academic study towards the achievement of City & Guilds 2322.
- Formal courses at the Company's training centres in Glasgow and Merseyside.
- On the job training to obtain an Electricity Distribution and Transmission
Engineering NVQ level 3.
As a knowledge based business, we continuously develop the skills and expertise
of our people through first rate training and development facilities. It is knowledge
and skills that enable people and businesses to succeed. Our Training Centres in
Cumbernauld and the Wirral have provided training and development to our own
staff and many World-class companies for over a quarter of a century.
Our apprentices receive training and development that's second to none at one of these
centres, as well as on-job training in utility work to satisfy the requirements of the
advanced modern apprenticeship scheme. The scheme involves periods away from home.
